The Getaway Grille & Cubbie Bar was established in 1983 and immediately became a local favorite.

'The little hole in the wall' is owned by Carl, Sanae and Tom Ackerman (who scouted with the Cubs in the mid 90's) and is a Cubs fans paradise.

You will see ample reasons why Cubs fans travel from all around the country to visit. From menu items named after Cubs players to singing happy birthday to the tune of "Take me out to the Ballgame," it's a definite must-see for loyal Cubs fans. You might even see the servers give baseball signals for their drinks.

As fun as it is for Cubs fans, the biggest reason people come in is the great homemade food. The Getaway is known for its slow roasted Prime Rib and BBQ ribs as well as hand dipped onion rings and mushrooms. The Italian Beef will make you think you're in Wrigleyville.
